This wheel slid a long way - and never derailed
Where is this? I know, I took the picture. It's in Indiana, if that's any help?
Dave 'The Cannon' answers correctly -
This is right down Main Street in Lafayette, Indiana.
We picked up our Passengers at the Hotel. All traffic came to a standstill, when the train was in the middle of the road.
Two trains a day (each way) used these tracks, our interstate train, The Cardinal, and the Local, The Hoosier State.
Nowadays, the train stops outside of town. The tracks are probably paved over.
